2 dead in I-90 crash identified

Two Hayward women are dead and one man is injured following a crash involving a car and a semi Sunday morning in Juneau County, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.

Troopers said the crash happened at 10:21 a.m. near mile marker 72 of Interstate 90 between Mauston and Lyndon Station in the town of Lemonweir.

The State Patrol said Marie Comiskey, 86, was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier eastbound with 45-year-old Marleen Comiskey when she struck a U-Haul trailer and crossed the median into the path of a westbound semitractor-trailer, driven by a 31-year-old man from Skokie, Illinois.

Both women were killed in the crash, troopers said.

The big rig driver was taken to Hess Memorial Hospital in Mauston with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officials said the crash remains under investigation.
