2 boaters rescued from Lake Michigan near Racine

RACINE, Wis. — The U.S. Coast Guard has rescued two people from a boat taking on water in Lake Michigan near Racine.
The Coast Guard got a call of distressed boaters on a marine radio channel late Tuesday. The caller said the boat’s propeller shaft was broken and the boat was taking on water.
The Kenosha News reports a rescue boat crew from Kenosha’s Coast Guard station launched just after midnight and reached the distressed boaters by 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The boat was located seven miles east of Racine.
