2 arrested for drug possession following welfare check in Reedsburg

REEDSBURG, Wis. — Reedsburg police arrested a man and woman Monday on suspicion of several drug offenses.

Officials were sent to a parking lot on the 100 block of Viking Drive shortly before 5:30 p.m. for a report of two people who were slumped over in a parked vehicle.

A news release said officers saw numerous drug-related items inside the vehicle after talking to its occupants. Police searched the vehicle and reportedly found over 17 grams of methamphetamine, heroin and drug paraphernalia.

Sherry Drews, 49, of Reedsburg, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to deliver 10 or more grams of methamphetamine, possession of schedule I and II narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Thomas Dyar, 55, of Reedsburg, was also arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of an electronic weapon.

Drews and Dyar were eventually taken to the Sauk County Jail. The Sauk County Sheriff’s Department assisted Reedsburg police with the investigation.
