14-year-old crashes vehicle, 2 other teens injured

Three Monroe teens were injured when a 14-year-old crashed a vehicle into a ditch in the town of Clarno Tuesday afternoon, according to a release from the Green County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to the N2200 block of Jeffery Road at 2:48 p.m. on a report of an injury crash.
The 14-year-old told investigators he swerved to avoid hitting a bird that flew out of the ditch as he was driving south on Jeffery Road. The vehicle went into the east ditch, struck a tree and overturned.
The driver and his 14-year-old and 15-year-old passengers were taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver was cited on suspicion of driving without a valid driver’s license.
The Monroe Fire Department, Monroe Police Department, Green County EMS and a town of Clarno patrolman assisted at the scene.
