14 arrested in Milwaukee in foreign gang crackdown

Members arrested part of "Mexican Posse" street gang

Federal immigration agents have arrested 14 men in Milwaukee in a crackdown targeting suspected foreign-born gang members.

Authorities on Monday arrested 13 Mexican nationals and one man from the Dominican Republic.

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency said the Mexican nationals who were arrested are members or associates of the “Mexican Posse” street gang. They are in ICE custody pending deportation proceedings.

The man from the Dominican Republic had previously been deported. Authorities said he has been charged in federal court with illegally re-entering the U.S. after being deported.

ICE said all 14 of the arrested have criminal histories that include arrests and convictions for crimes committed in the U.S. Some of the convictions include narcotics trafficking, criminal damage to property, and theft.

Police from Milwaukee, Greendale and Greenfield assisted with the arrests.
