1 sent to the hospital after car runs into horseback riders

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department said one person was injured after the horse he was riding on was hit by a car on an interstate highway overpass in Jefferson County late Saturday night.
The incident happened Saturday night around 9 p.m. where County Highway Q goes over I-94 in the town of Milford in Jefferson County.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, three horseback riders were crossing the highway when a car came by and hit one of the horses.
That person was taken by medical ambulance to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Another person was also hurt in the crash. Sheriff’s officials said the driver of the car was not ticketed because of the crash. One of the horses also had to be euthanized because of the accident.
