1 person hit, killed by train in Dodge County, deputies say
LOMIRA, Wis. — Dodge County officials are investigating a fatal incident Sunday night involving a train, according to a release.
Deputies received a report around 11:50 p.m. from Canadian National Railroad of a train that hit a person on the tracks, officials said.
The incident happened adjacent to and west of Industrial Drive, north of the grade crossing at County Road HH, which is still inside the village of Lomira limits, according to the release.
The train was heading north on the tracks at the time, and the incident did not happen at a road crossing, deputies said. The person died at the scene.
Investigators are still working to identify the person killed.
The train was stopped in the area for the investigation, which blocked some roads, but no major highways were affected Monday morning, deputies said.
