1 killed, 1 injured in crash near Mauston

One man was killed and another was injured when their car struck a guardrail on Interstate 90 near Mauston early Tuesday morning, according to a release from the Wisconsin State Patrol.

Investigators said a Chevy Camaro driven by Sid Williams, 45, of Illinois, was traveling west on I-90 when it drifted onto the median shoulder and struck the end of a guard rail near mile marker 72.5 in the town of Lemonweir at 3:05 a.m. The car spun around and came to rest facing traffic.

Williams was killed and his passenger, Harry Norris Lundy, 33, of Illinois, was taken to Mile Bluff Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Juneau County Sheriff’s Office, Mauston police, Mauston ambulance, Mauston fire and Juneau County Highway Department assisted at the scene.
